So I've been having this problem for a long time, years actually, and I'm sick of it! The worst part is when I eat I get discomfort (no pain) in my lower/middle abdomen and gas - belching and flatulance.
Since it's apparently quite common for people with aspergers/autism to have GI tract issues, does anyone here
share any of the same symptoms as me? What can I do to get some relief for once?
PS I've seen two doctors already and they didn't help. Going to see a third soon.

I wonder if it's a dietary thing?

Do you drink plenty of water?

Have you tried some home remedies for constipation? Prunes work wonders.
I second Babybird as well - make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
A high fiber and high water diet often regulates these types of problems.
If you are still having trouble after that, you need to see a doctor, probably a specialist.

It's possible the "extra 10%" is actually hemorrhoids that you are feeling (which could also explain the fart feeling and the discomfort and the extra skin sensitivity, especially if you ever feel itchy in that area.)

Treatment for hemorrhoids is the same as above. Lots of fiber and LOTS of water.
Try laying off the caffeine, too, if it causes you problems.
For relief, you can try filling your tub with a couple of inches of very hot water and soak your butt in it. It's hot, but it works.
If you're willing to try them, soothing creams exist - just get them over the counter at a pharmacy. I personally can't stand them and deal or try the hot bath.

Also, get a small stool to keep by the toilet. Put your feet up on it when you have to go #2.
It really helps to get everything out easier.

Keep a food diary to help find any patterns to see if this problem is related to things you eat or drink. This information will be very helpful the next time you talk to a doctor.

I don't see anything severe. If you're over 50, get a colonoscopy; you're supposed to get one at 50, anyway.

You would do well with the advice above.

Rhubarb is excellent for constipation. It can make you s**t though the eye of a needle if you have too much.

Try using a squatty potty stool for easier elimination without straining yourself. It is simple, cheap and it just works. I highly recommend it(and no I don't work for them).

Carbonated drinks can be a trigger. If you are feeling heartburn or sore throats have the doc screen for H. Pylori on your next labwork

My understanding is rule was added becuase of League Girls discussion of the adult baby community in the Adult section. Just some history.

IMO she was singled out unfairly becuase some people were grossed out. But there you go.

Given that the sexual fetish rule is clearly not enforced, it seem a bit odd that a health issue can't be discussed.

But the current excretory function rule this whole discussion is of limits. As are discussions about sweating.

Jaseinspace if you are having problem for years you may have IBS. See a doctor.

I also have it but manage it.

Actually the link between ASD and bowel disease has been somewhat severed by recent research. At least there is no reason to think the two things are linked.

You can try probiotics. However don't get fool by expensive specialist ones.

The one that worked for me are digestive advantage

http://www.digestiveadvantage.com/

Now I use Alpro Yogurts.

If you take a lot you will also get gas, however it can help stabilize over time.

Mashed potato mixed in diet can sometime help.

Fennel seed can help. You can chew it, make a tea, or take pills.

Peppermint pills can theoretically help, however you need a special pill that opens in the affected area of the bowel. I found it very hit a miss. Bit of a waste of time.

Don't be fooled by "enzyme" cures. These proteins are destroyed by stomach acid and are in your food anyway. if they work it is a placebo.

O_Equals_True:

Re your query on moderation:

We can -and do - discuss (for example) many sexual topics on WP, which is permitted. However there are limits on overly graphic or completely unacceptable posts. This week I imposed a temporary ban on a member who very graphically described what sex acts he would do to a baby which were completely unacceptable. If WP allowed a free for all without boundaries it would become a very unpleasant place for us all. The way that the OP went about his graphic descriptions (before that post was edited) was unacceptable because of the lack of boundaries in the graphic description of his excretory function. Of course you can post about constipation, digestive issues and the like; it's when members go over the top that moderators address the issue. Putting a trigger warning doesn't give anyone a free pass to ignore the guidelines. I hope this clarifies it for you.

B19 is great that you are using your discretion great, I'm just explaining the background behind that rule, which is a little different from the spirit of how it is enforced now.

There was a period when they were moderating without this discretion, and it wasn't as harmonious.

Btw if someone talking about committing a crime, something should be done either reporting to police if there is an imminent threat or talking to an organisation/charity. I don't know the context of the post so can't comment. However yes it is clearly against the rules.

I've been pretty irregular my whole life. I would sometimes go a couple times a week or 3 or more times in one day. About 6 to 9 months ago I started having flatulence & belching a lot more than I used to & I would have really hard stools. that made my butt really sore. My doc wanted me to eat more fiber. I tried eating alittle more fiber & it didn't make much of a difference. My doc prescribed a stool-softener. It says to take it 2x a day as needed but sense I'm pretty irregular I figured I should take it regularly & started taking one every two days. I've only been on it for about a week but I think it did help a couple days after I started taking it. I forgot to take it for a couple days. I took it yesterday & don't really notice any effects. I'll try remembering to take it every other day for another week & if I don't notice much help, I'll start taking one every day. I'll see my doc again if that doesn't help.

My suggestions for you OP is to try eating more fiber. If your picky about your diet, you could try Metamucil or fiber supplements. I'm thinking I might try one of those but want to see what the stool-softener does 1st.
