I am going to start going to the gym and I need to know what to wear. I am a woman so I will need women's clothes. I plan on doing aerobic and resistance training. What kind of shoes are good? Any brand will work but I need slip-on shoes which can be hard to find.

I wear basketball clothes, because I play basketball and can't afford different outfits. They're also men's clothes because I find the looser fit more comfortable. I say wear whatever is comfy!

I just started going recently, but I wear loose fitting t-shirts, tank tops and those active shorts that are made of polyester.

Anything that you find comfortable and is easy to move about in.
T shirts, singlets, shorts, tights. If you're doing prolonged cardio you may find moisture wicking fabrics more comfortable than cotton which will hold the sweat and make you sticky. Shoes are the same, brand name isn't important but a good fit and comfort is. You don't need to spend a bomb either, cruise the clearance outlets and save big $$$.

And most importantly, enjoy your gym sessions and the feeling of your body getting fitter :)
