My mother and father have been coughing somewhat regularly for a few months. I'm worried about their health. What should I do? What do you think is making them cough?

Wow well it's difficult for a layman to diagnose from thousands of kilometres away - it would be better for them to get a professional medical opinion if the problem persists. Are they smokers?

Many things can cause excessive coughing.
