Don't spam up this thread if you have nothing nice to say. I want to see if there are any other asipes out there who might watch a few of the games. I'm from Dallas, so it's kind of hard for me not to get caught up in Mavs madness. 67-15, No. 1 seed, cheated out of winning it all by the referees last year, play against their old coach now with Golden State starting on Sunday. Does anybody else even know what I'm talking about?

I did in 1994-95 when the Rockets won two back-to-back NBA championships.

In this order:

1) LAL-PHX
2) DEN-SAN
3) DAL-GSW

LAL-PHX should be emotional. I'm not sure if Denver could make it interesting against the Spurs. I'm definitely following Dallas primarily. Ironically in the west, The Jazz Rockets is probably going to be the closest matchup, yet the least interesting.

Toronto New Jersey could get ugly. CLE WAS should be a yawner without Arenas. As a Mav fan I want to see the Heat get back so that the Mavs can extract revenge.

I hope Dallas gets knocked out early. Great team, but Dirk plays too soft to have all the talent he has. You can put a point guard on him and he'll attempt a fade away 3 (??! !@!#) Great player but he needs to use his size and strength in key situations if he wants to carry his team to the title. I want to see Steve Nash in a NBA final.

Suns - Pistons - with the Suns winning it all in game six.

I love the NBA. sorry gof, but I'm a phoenix fan... and was yelling at my tv half the game tonight... but did you see baron davis' dunk on kirelinko? too sick.

GS just had their way with dallas. It was unfortunate that avery decided that it didn't matter if they threw away the last game of the regular season... I can't feel sorry for him for that one.

No wonder yao blocks so many shots ;)

Generally, I'm not interested in sports. I am watching the NBA finals, though. My boyfriend (NT) is into sports, esp. basketball, so following the games is something we can share. Basketball is tolerable, even enjoyable, for me-other sports annoy me too much. I tend to root for the underdog, though I'm not always sure which team that would be. I look for players with interesting faces (or hair)-that's what keeps me paying attention. Boyfriend doesn't mind that I ask the same silly questions constantly about rules & what stuff means.
Thing is, if I get really "into" it, I care who wins, then I'm upset if that team loses-which is extra unhappiness I don't want/need. So it's a risk, emotionally. Glad I don't gamble-it's stressful enough getting caught up in the victory or failure of some distant famous strangers. Would like to see Golden State, Phoenix, Detroit, Cleveland prevail over Utah, San Antonio, Chicago, & NJ. Hope that at least one of my preferred teams does well. Once all this is over with, I'll probably forget about it until next year.

Manu Ginobili is my hero.

He's like the son of Plastic-Man.

San Antonio in 5. All Big Fundamental (Tim Duncan), all the time!

(This from a Sacramento Kings fan, living the nightmare.)
