This is a really embarrassing question for me to ask, so I made a new account to ask it from. I've always had OCD tendencies. It used to be that I would wash my hands obsessively to the point that my skin was painfully dry and cracked. Now I feel compelled to go to the bathroom at least once every half hour and (stop reading if you don't want things to get gross) wipe my bottom. I do it so often that I think I'm breaking the skin and finding blood in the toilet after pooping and wiping. But I still have to do it, because I feel like people will smell me if I don't. Does anybody know how to fix this because it's driving me insane.

Hmmm...I really don't know any ideas to remedy this habit, sorry. I think your best bet is to talk to a doctor about it.

Maybe use water wipes for babies? Some of them are way more delicate than usual toilet paper.
And a cream with panthenol.

I agree with both posters. It would also be good to try & get treatment for the OCD weather it's counseling, meds or both.

Hello, as above, baby wipes would be best and also Vaseline especially before going to sleep. If you get help make sure it's with someone familiar with those on the spectrum, my CBT was a disaster (pre-ASD diagnoses). Also if you suffer from anxiety if you can't do this have you tried prioritising dealing with the anxiety over the OCD. Since I've concentrated on not getting anxious, rather than on being less obsessive (contamination) I am finding my obsessive behaviour much easier to live with. Good luck with this :)
