Well, sometimes I eat something even when I'm not hungry, or when I'm bored and it's something delicious and I can't resist. This causes an excessive calorie intake to me.

Anyone else here had this problem?

I have this problem. It’s mostly under control right now, but I have my off days, for sure.

It helps to distract myself and keep busy doing something. Sometimes I’ll chew gum or drink herbal tea.

Yes emotional overeating

If you want do something else when you are bored

Yes i know, without $$ or precious lil "friends", there are not many options (for me)

You might have $$ or friends. If you do, make use of them

If you don't, do something free and alone

:D

Would it help to get out of the house and go for a walk or something?

It's common for most people, I think.

It doesn't happen to me often, but when it does, I'll try to find something to keep me stimulated, like gum, ice cubes, or sunflower seeds (in the shell). It's pretty difficult to be a glutton with sunflower seeds =)

Ice cubes are probably a bad habit, though. I know it's bad for your teeth to chew them.

Eating with chopsticks might be another idea, since they typically force you to eat slower.

Popcorn isn't the healthiest thing for you, but is another food that takes a long time to eat.

I do and the only time it is in control is when I am pretty occupied with work or my spl. interest.

At times I have that issue and because of it I now am like 40lbs over weight. I need to start working out again

Popcorn with no sugar or butter, and with little salt, is pretty healthy.

Idunno, the verdicts seem pretty mixed about the health qualities of maize itself =)

I know if I eat too much popcorn, I kind of get stomach cramps. Probably because of the difficulty of digesting the hulls? Which also get stuck in my gums/teeth quite often.

Butter and salt, depends on your diet.

I also experience this kind of problem. I really don't know if it's a serious disorder or not. To avoid this, I usually make sure to drink water every 30 minutes to keep my stomach full of fluids. I even keep myself distracted by chewing candy or gum every hour. Hope this helps!

Boredom eats you.
