How did the "Baby Shark Song" become associated with the Washington Nationals baseball team?

Does anyone know?

"Bustin Loose" seems to have unofficially replaced "Hail to the Redskins" as our football teams main anthem. But that at least makes some sense. The 1979 hit by Washington DC's "Godfather of Go Go music" is a natural fit for a Washington team. But the relationship between the Nats and the Baby Shark character of children's books is not so obvious to me.

Not that I am complaining. The Baby Shark song is SO annoying that it... kinda crosses the line into being cute.

Not cute to me at all. It's one of the most horrendously bad earworms for me that I've heard.

I love this song. The guys at work love it too. It seems to be a kiddies song that is socially acceptable for adults to like.

I had to work at the stadium all week, for both the home and away games, and I asked the same question.

Answer:

Juan Soto is one of their top sportsball players. His daughter loves Baby Shark, so Everytime he comes to the plate, hits the ball, or runs to a base they play the song.

As far as I can tell, each player gets a theme song.
