This is kinda hard to explain but sometimes I see what resembles a group of tiny lights in the center of my field of vision. This is NOT due to glare from other lights cuz when this happens I see them wherever I look. I also even see them when I close my eyes. I notice this is more common when I'm tired. This has been a very gradual thing that I've been noticing for a long time. I never discussed this with an eye doc but I see an eye specialist every year or so & things are basically the same every time I go. Also since this happens even when my eyes are closed, I'm wondering if this is something unrelated to the eyes. Does anyone have any idea what this could be :?:

Warning signs of retinal detachment may include one or all of the following: the sudden appearance of floaters and flashes and reduced vision. Contacting an eye specialist (ophthalmologist) right away can help save your vision.

After you see these tiny lights is it followed by a migraine headache?

The closest sign of retinal detachment this might be would be a floater but these don't resemble floaters I've had in the past. Floaters kinda drift into the field of vision & move around but these specks of light are constantly there. My vision is normal for me otherwise.

I occasionally get migraines & have sense I was little but I haven't noticed any connection between them & the tiny lights. I haven't had migraines in a while.

I recently saw an optometrist who suggested something/k like this may happen *before* a migraine.

Keep an eye on the migaine thing, pun intended.

Many Aspies are hypersensitive to light, sounds, tastes, smells and touch. In my case I am fairly fortunate that my hypersensitivity mainly occurs due to long exposure from fluorescent lighting. This results in ocular migraine headaches. A migraine episode would begin with seeing stars around my peripheral vision. Over the next half hour, these sparkling stars would work their way towards the center of my vision, after which a field of flickering stars would obscure my eyesight and I was effectively blind and then a severe 2-hour long headache would soon follow. For me walking out into natural lighting at the start of an ocular migraine episode minimizes the intensity of the migraine headache.

^ I get the same thing. It happens when I have a lot of monosodium glutamate. But they disappear.

However, I do believe nick007 should get it checked out ASAP.

I go to Lenscrafters and get good eye exams. I pay for the digital eye scans and discuss what we are seeing with the eye doctor. They usually remind me to get immediate help if I see flashing lights.
