I'm prescribed Flonase/Fluticasone for my allergies. I saw an allergist who put me on it & my GP prescribes it now. My mom was also prescribed it before it became available without a prescription. I'm sure some people respond better to other nasal sprays but Flonase seems to me to be the main one the docs put patients on. I could be wrong thou & I hope others comment in this thread.

I presume you're looking for a nasal spray to relieve symptoms of hayfever/allergic rhinitis.

Mometasone, sold under the brand names Nasonex and Azonaire is now off prescription and very effective. Unlike some of the older nasal sprays symptoms improve in a matter of minutes rather than taking 1-2 weeks.

It's worth speaking with your doctor about a multimodal management plan rather than relying on a single form of attack.

I won't use nasal sprays. I was often sick as a kid, and early on I was sometimes treated with nasal sprays, but my fussing must have gotten thru to my parents, because they finally stopped trying nasal sprays on me. I absolutely can't stand the feeling of the stuff in the sprays hitting the back side of the inside of my nasal passages. I'm okay with a menthol inhaler tube, like the Vick's ones, but there's no way I'm going to use a nasal spray for anything.
