Something weird keeps happening to me

This has occurred a few times most recently this morning;

While sat at my computer I start to feel strange and everything around me suddenly becomes alien as if I've never seen it before like in a dream. Sometimes it gets stronger and I'll see a single sided avenue of trees then it all fades back to normal and I suddenly feel really hot.

It doesn't freak me out but I'm really curious as to what it could be or what may be causing it. I am not on any kind of medication of any kind prescription or otherwise.

Ideas anyone?

Are there actually trees, or is their angle changing? Other than that it sounds a bit like derealization... or a quick hallucinogenic trip, in which case perhaps serotonin levels are varying?

There are trees and they seem to be a little grey like they're dead. They are not moving though on a couple of occasions I have been closer to them.

One thing I should've mentioned is that I feel woozy for a few seconds before it comes on.

It might be related to stress and anxiety:

In the case of chronic stress and anxiety, the level of adrenaline within the body remains elevated. This can cause pressure on the eyes, sometimes resulting in blurred vision. Tunnel vision is another feature of excessive adrenaline. This tends to occur at times high arousal or during a panic event.

Many people with long-term anxiety find they experience eyestrain during the day. A common feature of anxiety is hypervigilance and the anticipation of events that will increase stress. Vigilance actually affects all the senses, but as far as vision is concerned, our pupils dilate in response to adrenaline order to take in more of the surroundings. We become highly sensitized to any slight movement. Over time this and the strain from other senses can cause muscular tensions and headaches.

In some cases certain kinds of light appear more problematic. Flourescent lights can be a challenge, especially banks of them such as in shops. Other people may find halogen lights, again often when used in shops for display purposes, a problem.

Some people with anxiety find that wearing tinted lenses or sunglasses reduces sensitivity along with their anxiety and helps to stop headaches. Some people who wear prescription lenses have permanent tints or use the type that react to light. For one thing it means they have fewer problems moving between environments where there are strong variations in light levels.

Hot flashes anxiety symptoms can precede, accompany, or follow an episode of nervousness, anxiety, fear, and elevated stress, or occur 'out of the blue' and for no apparent reason. ... Hot flashes can last for a brief moment, a few moments, a few minutes, ten to twenty minutes or more, or for hours at a time.

These are just ideas that I'm probably wrong about. Maybe your falling half asleep at the time & your just starting to dream & then snap out of it. Or maybe your having a sudden spike or drop with your blood pressure.

That's a good link

Many years ago I was taken to A&E as they thought that I was having a complex partial seizure. In addition to muscle rigidity I had a sense of unreality

It was confirmed that prolonged hyperventilation due to anxiety was altering my body chemistry and was highly likely to be causing the problem

Since then, when I feel this coming on I try to find somewhere quiet and focus in my breathing for a while - it soon passes

Now that I know what its about it doesn't worry me too much - in fact I find it quite interesting

For the purposes of completeness, maybe you were scrying. Think crystal balls. The idea is to relax the brain to change the brainwaves into a level more conducive to psychic experiences. Crystal balls are the stereotype, but others used throughout history include smoothed out sand, fire, and black mirrors. I've reached a state something like it while exhausted on a train (the rhythmic motion and sound), and I know a guy who used the 'snow' on the television when it was off channel.

Computers and reading often make me tired. I have glasses for driving, but they're no good for up close.

Maybe your computer is putting you into such a state and you are seeing trees.
