There's a little over a week before the NFL grinds into motion, and I for one can't wait.

Do you have a favorite team?

Mine are the wicked New England Patriots, whom face their toughest schedule in years with a brand new (yet oft injured) quarterback, and a host of COVID defections. :x

I can't wait to see if the ridiculously old (in football terms) Tom Brady can win bigly with a different team, and to see if the depleted Jacksonville Jaguars can eke out a win, period.

What are your NFL hopes and fears? :skull:

On Thursday Night, the quirky Texans square off against the Champion Chiefs. Both QBs are as rich as Croesus after inking new contracts.

Will the season be played out...or will COVID make an unwanted comeback.

(How) Will the Cowboys underachieve this season?

I like The Panthers! I don't follow many other teams.

My team is the Chicago Bears(hence 1/3 of my username). I hope that Mitchell Trubisky will show the improvement that I’ve been hearing he’s had.

Well, there's the circuses ... now, where's the bread?

I hope Tampa goes all the way. And I'm a Brady hater (jealousy).

I'm a Philly fan. Hoping Wentz stays healthy.

^Oh...and ignore Fnord. :)

The differences between Juvenal's panem et circenses and modern sport are as significant as the similarities.

I'm reading Jeff Benedict's fine book about the New England Patriots, and I was touched at how the owner Robert Kraft recognized that while his pious intellectual father bonded with his son through religion, he bonded with his through a love of Boston Patriots fubol. Bonding not bloodshed.

Bonding ... what a concept.

I'm not fond of professional sports; but other people enjoy them, so ... whatever.

Professional sports usually rip off the citizens of the towns they claim to represent. That I can't stand.

Oh, but think of all that money they provide for the local governments!  Surely, that must be significant...

I was answering the question, "Are you ready for some football?"

My answer was "No", and I have been elaborating on that answer ever since.

Do you have a problem with that?
