Has anyone ever experienced this hearing condition? Just today, my left ear began to act weird as if I had trouble hearing but my right ear continued to function normally.

If you are not familiar with this condition, here is a link below.

Could it be earwax? Or maybe a cold or something?

I've experience diminished hearing owing to both earwax and a cold.

It's neither of those. I use Q-Tips every day to clean my ears and I haven't had a cold lately.

In truth, there are some ENT specialists who recommend you DON'T use Q-tips. It's supposed to exacerbate things like earwax; it's supposed to merely push the earwax further up the ear canal. They say Q-tips could (in rare cases) cause damage to the eardrum, too.

Please note that I'm certainly not discounting the possibility that you should look into your unilateral deafness more. Have you seen an ENT specialist?

I plan on doing so tomorrow at a walk-in clinic near my house.

I hope you find a solution at the walk-in clinic.
