I get the sense that most people with ASD or AS tend to be kind of "unathletic." Naturally I was the same way but I did try a few team sports as a kid and for the past year I have been really into lifting weights. I am even considering doing it competitively someday. I love that it is individualistic, you just focus on improving yourself and applying knowledge to get better at this skill.

Also, when I first started I really wanted to get stronger but I was nervous to go be in a gym environment and I had trouble motivating myself. My trick was to think about it like a video game. The weights I can lift are like my levels/score/XP and that made it super satisfying to keep improving. So is anyone else here into this too?

I picked up some wights halfheartedly in past. But at end of day, no amount of steroids and hours in gym is gonna make up for the social deficits.

I might be. I may be just starting.
But for now I had to catch what's wrecking my newly self made routines.

I may want to because I'm a bit uneven. I have a lot of leg strength and stamina but rather weak upper body strength and stamina...
Even if I were deemed physically to be above average, I'd rather keep it -- or have it better.

I used to do it. I'm qualified as a fitness trainer (a long time ago). Trouble is is that I hate the gym environment. I have my own stuff at home.

I actually really enjoy resistance bands. They're perfect for home use, they're very portable because you can put them in your bag, they're cheap and they are really great for doing stretching exercises as well as resistance work.

Yeah love weightlifting and building up my body and I am fortunate enough to have free weights in my home garage.

Can a guy though who is 5'7-5'8 like myself develop what society considers a good body though?
