Might seem an unlikely source at first, but if ya got 28 minutes to spare, watching this may well answer those questions.

For the first time in over 30 years, the Cincinnati Bengals made it to the Super Bowl and Cincinnatians are going crazy over this! From people chugging cans of chili, to schools giving a day off and merch stands popping up all over the city, these past two weeks have been full of excitement and anticipation in the city. To let you guys in on what this feels like to people who have rooted for the Bengals their whole lives and have stuck around throughout years of struggle and defeat, I asked my boyfriend Ben to join me for this video and share his perspective on tomorrow's game and the emotional rollercoaster of being a Cincinnati sports fan.
Are you going to watch the Super Bowl tomorrow? Who are you rooting for? Let us know in the comments below!

The long answer to why is the above post, especially after the video's 22 minute point.

The short answer to why can be summed up in one word, Marketing.

Or if need be, two words, Successful Marketing.

If more depth of answer is desired, this may help,
