As a part of my morning routine , I scroll down my Facebook. That quick peek is very helpful for my self. I recommend every-one having a vast diversity of Facebook friendship. You will find out a considerable amount different subject and opinions (almost like real world) without the Interpersonal hassle. Please spend some energy reading them (no need to read them all, just a few) whereas you like the topic or agree with the opinion.

That being said, One of them shocked me this morning. This disturbing post is about a Harvard research resumed in a TEDx

For me it's very concerning considering my Asperger !

What is your opinion ?

You'll be OK - taking these kind of studies too seriously just mean you worry needlessly because many of us beat the so-called odds. Sometimes one of us can watch a medical talk and start worrying that we're displaying the very symptoms they're talking about - autosuggestion!

I managed to get a very faithful bf/soul mate despite my "differentness". Once I had made peace with being gay, which was years before I was diagnosed as Aspie.

Unfortunately we don't live in the same part of our country at the moment but are in daily contact. I hope we will be in a position to get together again as soon as practical.

What are your talents and interests? I like writing and painting, cooking (when in the mood), researching on the Internet, Scrabble, cryptic crosswords for the mind and for the body, running. Never really enjoyed gym but like the freedom of running.

Can't cycle bcoz my motor co-ordination skills are below par...

This is a real serious study , and I do agree regarding those conclusion. Nevertheless, we have a different way of socializing , but this don't mean we don't appreciate good friendship or relationship.

Regarding my personal life, its hard to notice if some-one is interested in me. The I have to escalate to .. is he gay , once the gay barrier is broken , I need to deal with my aspie side ... meaning , if the topic getting to personal , i'll diverse to humour... WOOOW HE WANA DATE (been to long it happen to me) ok , then he want to cuddle :help: :pale: panic ocure , how can I explain I'm more than interested but my body have hard time managing cuddle and personal contact ....

For my passion : electronics , music and sond syteme (aka audiophile) , Wine , Business , Sciences , technology , Alpine ski

I don't think it's depressing, It's more factual

We have to do some effort and some are more that please to help or work around our difference's. If some-one show interest, we have to consider him/her. The key is honesty and transparency, if he find something about us very unusual, he should say What , When . Then we have to explain the How. The same goes in the other direction.

This been said , its a lot more easier in theory than practice

Just because you have Aspergers-----doesn't mean your lifespan is reduced.

A lot of people seem to think we don't live a long life

There's plenty of people in their 70s here. I'm in my 60s.

I saw at least one person in his/her 80s. There was once a person who stated he/she was in his/her 90s.

The fact we’re such a marginalised group in society can effect our lifespan

I'm not going to make a decision on my life based upon the supposition that I have a shorter lifespan----when there's no medical evidence that Aspergians have a reduced lifespan.

Nearly everything I do will apparently shorten my lifespan, according to different random facts I have read, and I don't drink alcohol or smoke.

Apparently marrying an older man is supposed to shorten your lifespan. :?
And being a night owl. :|

I'm doomed then.
