Where I come from walking alone in the woods is not recommended because of drug dealers, aggressive homeless people and potential murderers and rapists wandering around. It's a shame people can't enjoy nature here. *Sigh*

I certainly do.

I live in a city (smallish one, but city nonetheless) and have nowhere to do this on a regular basis. But once the weather here starts to allow it, I go off to one of the national forests in my state and do some primitive camping where I can walk around, relax, and just 'be'. I don't go with other people...just me and dog. It is amazing and I never want to come back. If I could live out there, I would. It's like it soothes my damn soul or something...hits the metaphorical internal reset button. It gives me a calm and content I didn't know I could experience. Love it.

Yes absolutely. Being alone, apart from dog, in the woods is totally restorative for me. I will occasionally take a tent and dog to a nearby national park and spend a few days just walking alone.

Yes ,usually on a daily basis.
I love watching the seasons change.
It’s best to avoid the woods during the height of summer here ,unless you are fond of ticks.

Yes, my city is full of forested hills. Few other municipalities have retained 30% of their tree cover.

I spend quite a bit of time each week walking alone in the woods and countryside

I waked the woods yesterday and cussed out a land developer.

I enjoy and try to walk in the woods daily, but due to covid after-effects (or something else?) I don't think I've done a full week since Nov (when I caught covid).

Haven’t heard that bulldozer today.
I’m going to have a quiet walk and look at the wildflowers.
Rue anemones are blooming and wild phlox.White and purple.

I like images of American woodland where its miles and miles of thick trees (pines?) with 1 road weaving through it

British woodland looks so different
