I've bought one of those testing kits and have done multiple readings.

Mine averages around 170/95

This is pretty high, it seems.

190/110 a few hours ago.

My main BP meds have vanished.
I'm pretty stressed about it, which isn't helping.

^ It was your earlier post that gave me the idea for a thread. Hope your meds turn up soon!

It's so weird because they always just stay in the exact same spot.
I've searched everywhere.

What is your pulse?

Surprisingly low - all the readings so far are in the 60s.

When I got to hospital for my big stroke I was 183/105.

I guess it was likely higher when it started, before the ambulance.

I keep that number as a benchmark in my mind.

Your pulse sounds decent btw.

Those wrist monitors are annoyingly inaccurate, yet many medical personnel still use them.

I'm always 120/80, except for the time I went in for kidney stones and it was 149/100.

I use an upper arm model. I've heard that the wrist ones aren't much good as well.

Mine is an arm one.
It's very accurate unfortunately, or close enough.
My doctor puts me on a machine that does it for 15 minutes and gets an average.
During Covid lockdowns I used mine on video for her.

My second stroke was because my kidney got blocked.
The pain jacked up my BP and I stroked out.

My sympathies for you having a kidney stone.
I've heard they're awful.

Most of my life I was treated for hypotension.
I got as low as 60/40 once in hospital.
It's weird how the body just changes.

It was 120/58 when I saw my PCP in June. It was 123/68 after the car accident I was in at the end of August. It seems to hover around 110-120/60 if I look at readings from other doctors visits. I don't know if that's good or bad.

^ Many people would kill (metaphorically speaking) to have readings like that - they seem exceptionally good to me.

Hero,
Readings of around 120/80 are considered ideal.
Sometimes even a little lower.
The top number systolic is the pressure in your arteries when pumping blood.
The bottom number diastolic is the pressure in your arteries in between pumps (at rest, kind of).

It sounds like you're doing great!

I guess it's good to know that my blood pressure is OK.

My pulse also averages around the 70s-80s. It used to average around the 100s-110s though when I lived w/ my parents. I don't know what my blood pressure was then, but it was probably a lot higher than it is now.

I don't have no kit either. It's usually low because I workout a lot. My GP advised me to eat more salt.

Has that been helpful for you? I got the same advice and have been consuming a ton of salt, but am still getting hypotension symptoms. Thinking about trying compression stockings, but they seem like more trouble than they'd be worth.
