Despite all my health knowledge and having been healthy for about a month now I still have acne, it could be due to the toxins in my body still leaving my system but I am fighting it on the inside with very healthy foods and I have been fighting it on the outside with OXY products and nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any suggestions? :(

Go to a dermatologist, and get a prescription for tetracycline.

What kind of acne do you have? Is it cystic? http://acne.about.com/od/acnesymptoms/a/cystic.htm

Or, do you have mostly black heads or white heads?

I used to be an esthetician and experimented a lot with acneic clients.

You mentioned that you are eating healthy and that is great. Some people have allergic reactions to food and don't realize it.
The skin is a good indicator of what is going on inside the body.

What kind of products are you using right now on your face?

Where do breakouts occur mostly?

Woah that is quite a lot.

I mostly have white heads.

I am only using OXY products, the shave cream, the face wash, spot treatment etcetera.

Breakouts occur throughout my face including my forehead, chin, cheeks, and around my nose.

I found Roacutane very good but my acne came back as soon as I stopped using it and the Dr would not let me go on it again as its dangerous.

But.... when I went on the gluten casien free diet my acne left!

People with milk sensitivities will often break out with white heads between the eyebrows and on the forehead.
Try the gluten/casein free diet and see if it works. It can't hurt. Many autistics claim to have a better state of mind by eliminating those products.

If you just have whiteheads it should be easy to cure. Do you wash your face every morning and night? That is the most important thing to do. Get a scrub and use that a few times a week. It exfoliates the dead skin so that your pores won't be clogged as much.
Try a clay masque too to draw out impurities. Go on Ebay and get a glycolic acid gel for immediate results. You can probably buy all your products and get some directions on how to take care of your skin. Get a light weight moisturizer with an spf 15 or higher too.

I don't drink real milk or eat cheese and I am pretty sure nothing I have has gluten in it, I do wash my face every morning after i wake up and at night before I go to bed. I will try a scrub and try some more products, I have had acne for years and thought because I have been easting so well for so long it would go away but it hasn't.

Ok most likely the main cause of the problem is the oil from your skin. Try to limit your intake of saturated fat and transfats for a week, and see if you notice a difference. Also if you can increase the amounts of good fats your getting in your diet.

I am sure I have far less saturated fat and trans fat in my diet than any teenager, that can't be the problem. I am getting desperate because I am fighting it on the inside and outside and it will clear up slightly one day and then blow out completely all over again all without having changed anything.

Well it really not the average amount your looking at its what level of saturated fat and trans fats causes your body problems. No two people are the same so while your buddy lets say his name is Bob can eat a lot well your friend Michael might only be able to eat a 1/4 of what Bob can eat and you would have a different tolerance as well.

On your other thread "Lost Forty Pounds Easily" you say that you recommend the sandwiches from Subway; "wheat bread with turkey". Wheat/bread of course has gluten in it.

You also say that you eat oatmeal, which is, as many coeliacs know from bad experience, often contaminated with gluten from the factories where wheat is also processed .

And you mention Protein Drinks and Bars etc. Check if they contain "hydrolysed vegetable protein", because more often than not that is gluten. There may also be milk proteins in them.

Another hidden source of gluten is flavouring, ( eg: "spicy chicken", or "barbecue", etc ), on salty snacks, ( and perhaps protein bars, I don't know ), because they use flour/gluten to "stick" the flavouring on.

Examples of possible such sources in your diet are Pop Chips, Pita Bites, ( and I wouldn't be surprised if there was gluten/wheat bran or related in the "fiber mix" ).

I would tend to suspect the Protein drinks and bars anyway, because they are very unnatural/artificial forms of food.

.

I don't eat the oatmeal on my personal diet, I recommend Subway yeah but I don't actually eat there, I haven't started drinking the protein drinks yet, and the Pop Chips and Pita Bites are new to my diet but you may be onto something with the protein bars, I will look into it. Thank you, that was very informative. :D

both of my sisters and i use proactiv products, and it's the best thing we've found so far. you have to order it online, it's about $40 for the basic 3-product package, but you can get a trial pack for $20, it comes with the face wash, toner, and "repairing lotion" which you apply morning and night. i don't have very bad acne, but this seems to keep it at bay better than the other products i've tried.

I have tried Proactiv and it didn't work for me but nothing is a magic bullet or works for everyone.

that's too bad, then i'd suggest going to a dermatologist and seeing what they can do for you.
