I have acne marks all over my face and back from obsessively scratching at them. How long will it take for them to heal, if at all?

Red marks should go away by themselves eventually, I think. There also is laser treatment you can get I thin fairly easily in Canada, and some places in the US, which removes redness, destroys the infection that cases zits in the first place, and helps reduce scarring (the "craters"). I had it, and it helped a lot. I still break out some, but not nearly as much. The scarring is still there, but my mom says that it's better than it was.

On a related note, I get acne in *exactly* the same spots they've happened in before...

Everyone heals at a different speed, so i can't give a definate answer. It will also depend on if you scratch them...if you don't, they will obviously heal faster. If you keep on scratching them, they might not heal at all.

On a personal note...
I used to pick my face and it has left some scarring...arghh.

Mine too, I'm a terrible picker, haha.

Best advice - drink lots of water, don't eat any processed crap foods (basically, if man made it don't eat it), cut down on dairy as this can affect the skin, and as for topical creams etc...

Try jojoba oil. Just straight jojoba. You can get it at health food shops and chemists... rub it in and feel the love. Rose hip oil is also amazing if you can get it - try them in tandem for super power. If you've got a particularly infected or nasty looking spot, try a bit of lavender oil on it (but be careful as it's very strong and can be very drying, so don't get too much of it elsewhere).
