Hello,

Do we have many climbers here? Do you climb indoors or outdoors?

I am fairly new to climbing and climb indoors at the moment though I would like to go outdoors more when I start to get good.

I’ve done a lot of caving. I’ve always enjoyed climbing things.

I've done indoor rock climbing many times and climbed outside twice. It's not for a club or anything like that...just for leisure. Although, i'm getting to the point where my body mass outweighs my strength...so getting a little hard to pull myself up! I haven't done it in atleast 6 months though, i've been rather lazy.

when i was younger i had no qualms climbing trees and street furniture. i think you have just got to climb whatever is available to you. nowadays i live in london, so the indoor climbing wall is more convenient than trees and rooftops. are you sure there are none near you?

indoor walls are fab though!

Rings that you can swing from like monkey bars that swing so you can go from one to the other by swinging and grabing the next ring. I would install a track to the joist so I can adjust them. and can take my weight. I don't weight much 130.

that sounds cool. i am currently trying to get some mats second hand from my climbing club so that i can put up a trapeze swing in a disused factory that my friend's a caretaker for :)

did you ever watch the show 'american gladiators', they used to have a kind of ceiling mounted race track where you propelled yourself by doing this arm peddling thing... how hard must that be? i'd love to try it though.

Even though I am absolutely terrified of heights I used to climb fairly regularly, and was a low level qualified climbing instructor for a while (amongst other things) when I was working at a kids activity centre.
I stopped when I was bouldering in an indoor climbing centre one day last year and I fell badly on 1ft thick crash matting and snapped my ankle into 3 pieces.
I'd love to get back into it one day but right now I don't have the time, or even the guts, to get back into it.
