Anyone else here reasonably good at bowling or bowl on a regular basis (like leagues or whatever) oh and not to long ago I only had a 130 or so avg so Im not too picky bout reasonably good. I love bowling and besides for xcountry I think its one of the easiest sports for aspies to get into, now I just wish the leagues at the local go-kart track wasnt so expensive... wonder if I could get the school to finance a league for its students :-/.

I used to bowl a lot, and worked in the bowling alley. My best year was 1986-87, when I averaged 200+ in 3 leagues, and bowled an 815 series. I agree that it is a good sport for aspies.

In the 70's, I bowled a lot. I bowled with friends and bowled in a money league in the late 70's. I bowled in the 180's then.

My kids (both diagnosed with autism) both like to bowl. We have gotten them their own balls and bags. We rent shoes for them since their feet are growing. We use bumpers and one of those disability ramps for my younger guy since he is lower functioning.

We bowl about once a month. I'm generally in the 150's.

My NT wife, my aspie self, and my two autie kids all have a good time bowling together.

Former bowler here. At my best I had a 150 average. Highest game was a 234, but never had a 600 series to brag about or more than 4 strikes in a row. I sure wish there was a Saturday morning league for us adults!

Hey, who remembers BIF, the green mascot for the Young American Bowling Alliance?

I have gotten 6 strikes in a row but half of them were always lucky, I am proof that it is better be lucky then good as when Im good I leave the 10,7, or 5, still havent gotten 600 though I just missed it once last year, last week I was hoping but I went way downhill my last games.

Big Bump

I've been bowling since I was about 8, only stopped last year at 24 after a nasty ankle break from a climbing accident.
I kept a 195-200 average for the last few years I was playing.
It took me 14 years but I eventually threw a 300, and damn was it an amazing feeling! The most strikes I threw in a row was 18 over 2 games (8 to end one game at 278 and 10 to start the next at 287)
I miss it like crazy and will hopefully start it up again pretty soon.

oh, and I threw the 300 with a 10 year old ball, which makes it even better.

I played from the time I was 6 to around 10. I quit though, mainly because my father was picking on me, telling me nothing I did was ever good enough.

My average before was around 120, pretty good for my weak arms :P Now I'm get 100's due to lack of practice, but I'm okay with that since I'm having fun.

I bowl once a week with my friends, but my average is only like 120. They average 200. =/

Regardless, I have fun.

I use to bowl quite a bit in the 1990's. A good friend myself was a very good bowler and he still bowls very well. Over time I learned to do it better but could of never really got high scores with it. My highest was 157, I think. For the most part my scores would range in the 100's and maybe below sometimes. I don't know how I would bowl now since it's been a few years.

I am getting scores like 160 somethings now and usaully get 120 scores now! The main thing is i find it fun and yes i am resembly good. I have also found out recently that this boy i know who also goes to my bowling club has aspergers as welll... which i found very interesting.

Me and my friends have been doing this a lot laterly. I was never really all that good at it before, finally got myself up to having most games in the mid 130's but still would like to improve on that a lot.
