Again, not a baseball fan, but what two cities
should be perfect for a major-league baseball team,
if any teams relocated or expanded?

Las Vegas -- this city should not be deprived of a pro sports act!
Portland --- Why isn't anybody considering playing in this city of roses?

Here in Portland, we want soccer, not baseball.

This is kinda weird... What is the use of MLS for Portland? It's a bush league, man...

Oh that's right. My bad.

How about a Canadian team?

I so badly want Montreal to have a baseball team again: a National League one (a GOOD one). The closest I ever physically got to the Expos was the one summer I lived in Ottawa, and got to listen to their games on the radio (they had so many great players, but from that season I particularly remember Dustin Hermanson, who, as far as I know, is still the last pitcher to hit a home run in his first career at-bat). But the whole spiral of penny-pinching ownership and terminally apathetic fanbase eventually got to me. Even though I'm not the rabid baseball fan I was before the infamous 1994 season, I still long to see MLB back in Montreal.

As of yesterday, Portland and Vancouver BC
were awarded MLS expansions for 2011.

The total package the new MLS Portland team
must make back over a certain course of time
is approximately $130 million.

In opinion, this is better than baseball.

The only question is: Where will semi-pro baseball team the Portland Beavers play?

Weird... Why would Portlanders want MLS when all it matters in soccer is in England?

I would have picked Charlotte but I don't think San Antonio could support a baseball team.

Vegas would be an excellent city! As long as they wouldn't make it an indoor stadium. I can't stand indoor stadiums. And Vegas needs way more things to do outside.

Oh yeah - and Reno blows big time - but they could attract from Sacramento all the way to Salt Lake.

The could call them the Reno Silverados! Hyah!! !

Um...Portland's not a big sports city.

The MLS idea was the idea of Merritt Paulson, the son of former
Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson.

Would I see an MLS game when games begin in 2011? Of course I would!

Anyway, if I was an MLB commissioner, I would relocate or expand to the following:

1.} Las Vegas
Like Portland, this city is another laughingstock in pro sports.
With all the casinos and vice running amuck, this should
give families something to do away from the casinos.

2.} Charlotte
Animal names are overrated.
The Bobcats? Gimme a break!
How about the Blue Socks?
