Well I'm trying to stay away from anything that has corn syrup and anything else that's artificial or been dabbled with.

I bought vinegar but any ideas of what I could mix with that vinegar that would be natural or safe from all that processed sugar.

Note: that I have no problem with natural sugar coming from fruit, but I think I have a sensativity to sugar that's been processed.

I was also wondering if there are any websites that're good for fast healthy recipes that stay away from starch and sugar.

I don't know if this is helpful but I get most of my recipes from the Food Network's website. http://www.foodnetwork.com/

Most homemade salad dressings won't contain sugar. They are usually just a vinegar, an oil and herbs and spices. Sometimes, they'll have eggs (or mayonaise). If you want sweetness, honey will be better than cane sugar.

If you're looking for light, healthy and easy to make food - you may want to look at Giada DeLaurentis' and Elie Krieger's recipes. Yum!

Also - have you checked out the South Beach Diet? I don't "diet" but I like the food because it cuts out sugars and starches and focuses on proteins and veggies. I have way more energy and patience when I eat like that. 8) :bounce:

Olive oil is always a winner. I also refrain from corn syrup, and I have found food to be a lot more satisfying when it's not processed.
I would also recommend lemon rind, hemp seeds, almonds, sunflower seeds for a salad dressing.

Hemp seeds:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... _seeds.jpg

"Hemp seeds contain all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary to maintain healthy human life[10]. The seeds can be eaten raw, ground into a meal, sprouted, made into hemp milk (akin to soy milk), prepared as tea, and used in baking. The fresh leaves can also be eaten in salads. Products range from cereals to frozen waffles, hemp tofu to nut butters."

You can buy pasteurized eggs. They are no more expensive than cage-free eggs - etc. About $2.50 US. They are fairly easy to find.

I also use them for royal icing for cookies and cake decor. They say its safe to leave out at room temperature on cookies - so that's definitely safe enough for a caesar dressing. And taste-wise, there's just no substitute for eggs.

From there, you just need to decide - anchovies or no anchovies. 8) (yum!)

This is the brand I get.

if you want to make a french dressing, it is 1 part vinegar 3 parts olive oil I think. :chin: you can also try finely mincing up a little bit of raw garlic to mix into the dressing.

When I had a problem with sugar I used honey as a substitute.
