I am a 19 year old male around 5'11.5 and I weigh 170lbs or over. How many pints of water a day do I need to drink? I have dryish skin and can get a beard very easy so for my skin type I might need to drink more water? Also I am not very good at maths so can you just put down the required amount for example (8 pints of water).

They say 8 cups a day, though they also say that getting it in food, tea, coffee, etc. compensates a lot of it. Some people get by on never drinking water straight - not the healthiest thing to do but if you think about it they could never last if it didn't translate at all. I like to drink at least 3 or 4 cups of water a day and on the days that I'm working out that does get closer to 6 or 7. I guess you just have to teach yourself to enjoy water first though.

Your skin is kept moist by sebacious (oil) glands. If you have dry skin it probably is not due to insufficient water intake. Are you exposed to heavy chlorine or anything? In the absence of cravings or signs of dehydration you probably do not need to drink more water. Despite the misconception, with regular activities most people get the water they need from food.

I only drink water straight as a last resort... the way I figure it... every drinkable liquid(that I can think of) is predominately water so I'm fine. Gatorade and milk for the win!

You're supposed to drink 2 litres of water a day.

Yeah, my big two things are unsweetened iced tea and coffee. Milk I'll take with a protein shake, pop only when I've got Jack, Crown, Henessey, or something else in it. Still, I try to drink a glass of water first thing in the morning (its important to metabolism after 8 hours sleep) and anytime I'm feeling thirsty rather than just needing a wake up or something with a meal I'll go with water as well.

it will really depend on your activity level and surroundings. I usually drink 3-4L of water per day (12-16 cups) because i work outside and I'm really active with sports and commuting (the advantage of only having a bike as transportation). gauge it by your urine, if it's really yellow, you need to drink more water, if it's clear or almost clear, you're drinking enough, and if you're getting up to pee every hour, you're either drinking too much or have a urinary problem.

Wow, I struggle to drink 1 litre most days unless I'm really active, which is hardly ever.
I usually drink a few cups of tea everyday along with soup (because it's winter) and I suppose it's ok to get some of your water from those things.
