Hey, all!

I've been having some sleeping issues lately. I've been having bouts of insomnia, sleep paralysis, and the like. I think I've been hearing things too, but I'm sure my mind is just playing tricks on me. Any tips for me to get my spirits up?

Thanks for the help!

No. Sorry, nothing comes to mind - I can't personally relate or help you so...
Best of luck.

Alright, I'll count some sheep. If things persist I'll come back with more information.

Thanks again!

Only three things ever work for me, and I try them all until one works.

1) lavender vanilla lotion on my temples and hands (aromatherapy, it's very relaxing)
2) quietly playing my favorite mellow songs
3) reading a calm book (self-help, short stories, poems, cook book) with a low light on.

Until someone does some serious research on the link between sleeplessness and autism there are really no answers. But you're not alone.

I've been up since 9 AM yesterday and am going to bed in an hour. I will still need a Valium and some Ambien.

Maybe you can talk to a doctor and get sleeping pills for the insomnia. I have the same problem that I only sleep an hour or 2 a day for days in a row and I start having symptoms. I even hear voices in the morning including today. I slept better today than the previous 5 days though. Insomnia sucks. What is weird is that I am on so many sleeping pills (I also have bronchitis right now so taking meds for that) and I still get insomnia. I take Trazodone, Nyquil, hydroxyzine, and my anti- psychotic pills basically I take many meds that have drowsiness as a side effect and some are meant to knock me out cold. But when I have an insomnia attack not a single pill helps. I don't know if that would be the case for you. Talking to the doctor about insomnia is good. How long does your insomnia last?

Tried everything and nothing works, so I have given up worrying, as realization my brain neurologically or otherwise will never be as expected by many, as I am not. So the nights I need less sleep I do the things I love and in the quite of night often the best time for me anyway.

Thanks for the adivec. My dr has prescribed me clonidyne. So, hopefully I'll be feeling better soon.

I might ask my Dr. if we can try this. He's never mentioned it. How does it make you feel?
