I have schizoaffective and autism and am an artist. I have been featured in books and magazines for my art. The only problem is that I don't know if I should share my website because it gives personal information and the last time I shared my site on this site and another site (which happens to be schizophrenia.com) they attacked me and my art. Schizophrenia.com also attacked who I am by saying I am a faker and my art is crap. This was the moderators that attacked me and then they banned me thinking I am faking my illness. That led me to be suicidal. Of course they didn't believe that either. So, I don't know if i want to risk being there again. I also put my site on this site (wrongplanet.net) and it was also attacked and they were making fun of who I am. I would love to join your group though. My art is different than typical mentally ill people. Most mentally ill people do abstract pictures because it reflects their illness and how confused their world can be (at least that is my opinion). Mine is realistic but some of mine are kind of too bright for what the scene should be. Some of my other pictures are more weird though maybe more like a mentally ill person. I think some of my pictures are more like a manic person's kind of art. They are bright and colorful, much more than real life can possibly be. I draw animals with colored pencils.
Awwwe your such a nice person I can't believe that.
People on the schizophrenia spectrum much like autism have different level's of functionality. To me it's no surprise that something like that could've happened. I also think some level of jealousy could arise from someone lower functioning than you. It's like Autism vs high functioning or Aspergers. People with schizo affective can be fairly high functioning compared to normal schizophrenics. That's my experience, I know at least two other people who are high functioning. Everyone is affected by neurological stuff differently in reality it should be our compassion that brings us together not who deserves more sympathy, or who's more sick.
