Wikipedia was right once before....Could I be Aspie?
Ok, so first time here.
I currently have Bipolar I Mixed, ADHD, PTSD and Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). APD, PTSD and ADHD were self diagnosed and confirmed by different specialists about 1-2 years ago. Bipolar was diagnosed three years ago.
I am wondering if the APD and ADHD are actually more likely to be undiagnosed Aspergers. I take things too literally sometimes, talk very loudly, have a hard time following instructions (especially if they are long or given to me while distracted), and generally have the impulsivity level of a two year old, blurting out random things at inappropriate moments, being unable to focus in conversations, and obsessing over very specific interests to the point of obsession that disturbs most people (currently Bioware video games).
I have, fortunately, been able to pick up enough on social cues to restrain from some truly annoying behaviors like shouting out answers in class, and other forms of social self restraint. Also, most people have been accommodating, and luckily my outbursts are the adorably awkward "Zooey Deschanel as Manic Pixie Dream Girl" kind that people like and not the "what a weirdo, let's drown her in the toilet" kind.
I shared my suspicions with another person with autism, and he agrees that I might be a high functioning autistic.
Any thoughts?
First thing you could to was to take this test: http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php It should be a good indicator
