Fear of relapse of psychosis

When I was 14, I developed bad psychosis. I have not developed psychosis since.

But lately I've had a fear of a relapse, especially as my ability to work has gone down the drain. My doctor keeps me on 10 mg/day Zyprexa partly to assuage my fears.

Does anyone else experience this?

I am always in fear of slipping into psychosis. I think the thing is though to try and not worry about it too much, because the more you think about it- the more likely it is to happen. Or at least that is what I think.

I would definitely agree with that. One of my old uni councellers told me not to talk about my schizophrenia hallucinations or delusions unless I was currently having trouble with them

I had a psychotic episode when I was 17 and have been frightened of having one ever since (late 30s now).

Because of this Ive always refused drugs and tried not to drink too much and take exercise and eat reasonably healthy. I also wont watch harsh films or read harsh books as I think thats unhelpful.

lastly I keep my mind occupied with studying interests as Im convinced a lot of poor mental health is from an unoccupied brain trying to find a way to busy itself.
