I was diagnosed a few years ago with Ultradian Bipolar disorder (or very ultra cycling) shortly after I was diagnosed with Asperger's. I was wondering if anybody else has this, or something like it. My cycle is terrible, and I usually go through mania and depression several times a day. I just need to know that I'm not alone with this, as it is not very common. :(

Years ago, before I knew anything about Aspergers, I read quite a but about that and I thought it sounded very much like me. It's like being a boat without a keel -- very difficult to hold the mind stable. I'm not so sure whether it's really a separate thing, or simply a manifestation of one variety of Asperger Syndrome, but I do remember that it was quite close to my experience back when I first studied it.

I really do understand the feeling of ultradian bipolar and having Asperger's, even though both were only just recently diagnosed. Sometimes I will go between hypomania and depression a few times in a day, especially if I am sleep-deprived and stressed.

Thankfully taking lithium is actually helping with the cycling and keeping me more level.

Hope you are able to find something that helps you out!
