Around about 10 years ago I had a psychosis involving writing multiple times to someone I thought I liked. I don't know what I was doing. I am deeply embarrassed. I did it again but this time I was on sertraline and it kicked of the psychosis because I had a bad reaction. I am so ashamed because my memory is coming back since the hospital visit bit by bit. added somewhat 4000 people on Facebook before I went to hospital. Apparently I was very helpful on ward and very co-operative and got beaten up several times. So they let me out early even though I was not fully well. I was on section 2. My psychotherapist was testing for autism before the sertraline really pushed me into psychosis. I don't know if it is schiz or bipolar but I am recovering from it. It has ended up with me splitting from my partner even though he understands but I feel detached.

When I was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia, antipsychotics made my state worse... which led to increasing dose of antipsychotics :|

So I was initially dx'd schizophrenia and then bipolar. I am not sure what it is anymore. They took me off antipsychotics thinking I was fine and had to go back on them when I started sertraline as it didn't agree with me.

If a drug didn't make you feel/function better, you should give up that drug.
Sertraline is just one of multitude of antidepressants, maybe it's not the right one for you.
I firmly believe, instead of adding antipsychotics to sertraline, you should try different antidepressants until you find one that really helps you.
I'm currently on vortioxetine.

Unfortunately after starting Sertraline I ended up psychotic and ended up on section 2 and have been forced on the antipsychotics. I am not officially diagnosed autistic but I wanted to know if it can happen with autism as my psychologist was testing me for it before I got sick.

What were the symptoms of your "psychosis"?
Sometimes increase in sensory issues, derealisation, frequent meltdowns and shutdowns and other symptoms of autistic burnout get misinterpreted for a psychotic episode. That happened in my case.
Do the antipsychotic drugs help you function?

You got beaten up in hospital under a section 2, this is not acceptable.
No wonder you feel detached, big hugs.

It being my first visit to the hospital I wasn't sure what to expect. I don't remember much to be honest.

Differs by person... I take Seratiline along with other meds and it's my miracle drug... Takes away my depression really nicely!
