For me anxiety is something that I know is irrational yet it is very real to me. For example, a simple meeting should not be a big deal and when I have to speak in front of a large audience at a meeting, anxiety can overwhelm me. Sometimes a meeting of a small group may not bother me if I just say a few words, but other times it can be overwhelming.

For me, positive experiences and the comorbidities
are inversely proportional.

I have generalized anxiety disorder. The psychologist who diagnosed me with my disorder (see my signature) also put down on the evaluation that plus dysthymia. I'm on 20 mg of citalopram (here in the U.S. the brand name is Celexa). My panic attacks have gone down since I started taking it.

It was noted that I was a "nervous nelly". Lol.
