I don't even have depressive lows, so why the heck am I schizoaffective???
If you've had a psychotic manic episode, but the psychotic symptoms didn't go away after your mood returned to baseline, you fall into the category of schizoaffective, bipolar type. Some schizoaffectives are "depressive type," where they have psychotic depressive episodes only (no mania), and the psychosis doesn't go away after their mood returns to normal. So, if you've only had a manic (or mixed) episode, you still would be classified as schizoaffective. Also, chances are that you would experience a depressive episode at some point if you weren't taking medication.
