Lol I think I have lost.... there is no way I can beat you when I am at school all day .

I need to as well, but the way I spend my time "productively" is watching 10 hours of Stampy Cat ! I am trying to quit because this is like an addiction for me .

I consider addictions special interests ^^^^^^

Me either. My brain is made to just constantly obsess over something!

That's great that you are doing well, Britte! I am anxious more today, but you won't believe what happened! I had a whole week without almost any paranoid thoughts! Of course, today I just "had" to watch a stupid video on a transient psychotic episode so that triggered it all again, but other than that and some mild depression and memory issues (which are scaring me), I'm doing great!

I hope Ferris and everyone else are doing well too!

I also have a question for everyone here. This year in my health class, we have to learn about mental illness and disorders . It is our first unit, and I don't know what to do! Should I ask my teacher if I can be excused from the lessons? I have a feeling it will trigger a lot of anxiety. I don't know if schizophrenia is one of the disorders we have to learn about (he only mentioned depression), but I am already worried, of course. What do I do?

^Stampy, I think that's between you and the teacher. I can tell you though that I don't believe anything unpleasant would happen if you confide in your teacher. Good luck, and I'm glad you've had such a great week. I'm on my way home from a picnic that was a lot of fun, and even the trip to and from hasn't been bad so far.

Hi SSF. I'm so pleased to hear that you had an entire week of freedom from paranoid thoughts! I'm sorry to hear that you've been anxious, today, but the good news is, you are aware of what had, likely, brought it on. You can use this to your advantage, by avoiding exposure to videos of that nature. I know it is your special interest, so, perhaps in the (not too near future), you might try and see if this changes. For now, it's good that you know, and heed your limits.

It is my personal feeling/opinion that you do, discuss your concerns and needs, with your teacher. You have a real condition and concern, and you are right to protect your mental/psychological well-being. If your teacher takes issue with it, I would speak with your Mom and ask if she would support your efforts and help you speak further, with your teacher. It is very important, and very healthy that you are considering taking action to protect yourself/your mental well-being. Good on you!
