I have Tourette syndrome, OCD, and ADHD along with AS. I think I may also have a phobia of driving. I'm 17 and I refuse to get behind the wheel of a car! Totally freaks me out. Sometimes i feel like i have selective mutism (in class with certain teachers i literally feel like I can't speak, but I can talk normally 10 minutes later at lunch with close friends) but I think that's probably not a separate disorder, just a part of my AS.

I probably don't deal with it the best I could, but thank you.

Alexithymia, syneathesia and hyperlexia are the ones that affects me the most, even more than my AS (from my point of view).
I've also had OCD/GAD since I was a kid and over the past few years I've also developed a nyctophobia.
And I don't feel hunger/I never feel full, but I don't know the name for that.

There are bad sides and good sides to all of those things :)

Well besides aspergers......I have severe chronic depression, generalized anxiety, PTSD, possibly a slight case of ADD. That is all I know for sure so far, but I have noticed odd things that don't seem to be described by any of those so maybe there is more.

AD/HD combination type
Fibromyalgia
Panic Disorder (not really an issue anymore, but put me in ER in it's heyday)
suspected Asperger's- I've never been formally diagnosed, but I have suspected it for years. The more I read and take tests, the more I see myself in the discription.

Throughout my life, I have struggled with a wide variety of psychiatric illnesses. From the crippling anxiety and unbridled rage I first experienced in toddler-hood to the nightmarish psychosis of more recent times, my psyche has always been unstable and complex. As of late, I have also developed numerous, mostly undiagnosed physical and neurological symptoms.

I also have an extensive history of trauma, which has lead to a majority of these complications. It is impossible not to wonder if they have, in some way, contributed to them all.

This is the current list (January 29th, 2011):

Psychiatric:
Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Type
Complex-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Dissociative Identity Disorder
Depersonalization Disorder
Derealization
Asperger's Syndrome
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Social Phobia
Panic Disorder
Agoraphobia
Borderline Personality Disorder
Traits of Avoidant Personality Disorder (not enough to meet full diagnostic criteria)
Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder
Sensory Processing Disorder

Neurological (Primarily Undiagnosed Symptoms):
Tourette's Syndrome
Spasms (not tics)
Weakness
Tremor
Stutter

Physical (Primarily Undiagnosed Symptoms):
Hypoglycemia
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Heart complications
Fatigue
Frequent, severe headaches
Nausea
Jaw pain (most likely a result of grinding)
Mild back pain
Ache and pain throughout body

Great fun. At least it is always interesting.

I've had a lot of similar diagnoses. If you've been on lots of meds I'd bet a majority of your neurological & physical can be related to that. Anti-psychotics list about half those things as potential side-effects. Meds made a lot of my problems worse & I'm much better off not on anything

The neurologist I see suspected that the medication was the cause of many of the my listed complaints. My psychiatrist - who is rather anti-medication (he does more therapy; rare, I know) - agreed with her. Late 2010, we began to wean to off of them.

As of this past Thursday, I am off any sort of pharmaceutical.

We are waiting to see how much of an impact this will have. Some of the symptoms existed before I was prescribed anything (tics, mild spasms, Hypoglycemia); but most of it is recent or was worsened. I already feel so much better. The weight I gained is beginning to back off, as well.

This is a list of all the psychotropic medications I have been on: Strattera, Zyprexa, Lithium, Serequel, Paxil. My latest combination was Lithium, Serequel, and Paxil.

Just to be careful, however, we are looking into alternatives (such as Truehope's Empowerplus, Herbals - even simple things such as mint have benefits - and other things such as Omega 3).

Cheers to being medication free!

I had been on all the meds you listed; not all at the same time but I had tried em all. Meds had worsend a lot of things for me while I was on em & things are a lot better now that I'm off but I've been off a couple years & some things are still a lot worse than they were before; I was on meds for 5 years. You need to be very careful with herbal supplements to. I noticed weird side-effects from some that I tried briefly. Best to take things very slow & gradual

I have dyslexia, depression, OCD, ADD, Anxiety and AS. School was always hard for me. If it wasn’t for sports I would not have graduated. The only way I’m writing this in word first and then copping. It has been hard for a very long time. I’m 43 and I got diagnosed with AS, depression, OCD, ADD, Anxiety when I was 41. With med’s I’m doing great, but I sometimes have bad time but the help of my Doctor and God it does not last long. I’ve got a lot to work on but I’m getting better.

Other than being diagnosed on the autism spectrum, I was also diagnosed with ADD at a very early age (i.e. 2 years old).
