Memory vs Paying Attention - and acting on a stage

Memory between long and short term should be good enough for alot of play scripts. I never met anyone through a seven year period who could read it five times and remember all the lines. Just about anyone has to reread the script many times, and practice the routine, eventualy without the script in hand.
