I have been seeing what I think are people out of the corner of my eye or sometimes when I wake up suddenly or go around a corner.

Is this an aspergers trait or sign of something more serious like Schizophenia?

I have had that issue a couple times recently, and a weird issue with things looking like they are moving a bit at times. Not sure what the cause is, but I have experianced that.

It's not an AS trait, and while some people with schizophrenia who have visual hallucinations often have them start like this, seeing shadows out of the corner of your eye is actually fairly common and not usually indicative of impending psychosis.

The most likely cause of this phenomena you are experiencing are floaters. These are shadows caused by bits of tissue floating around in your eye. They're usually nothing to worry about but you should have an eye exam.

Nope. Just shadows. It's pretty much an unexplained phenomenon, and everyone sees them sometime or another.

seeing fleeting shadowy images out of the corners of one's eyes, is a temporal lobe phenomenon, that is what a shrink told me when i asked him about it.

Feeling presence of people (or even briefly seeing people) when awakening is one of the symptoms of sleep paralysis, which isn't part of schizophrenia or ASD but a relatively common trouble of sleep.

It could be anything. In my case it was the start of something serious, but for others it can be nothing more dramatic than an overactive imagination. I hope you're in the latter category.

it is normal. The shadow people are created by the brain when it fails to interpret visual input correctly.

I saw a shadow person through the corner of my right eye on January 1st, 2011 (is it an aspie thing to remember dates?), early in the morning.

The one thing I will never swallow is the idea that the shadow person will stand in front of me one of these days. It is just dumb supernatural stuff.

If they're only out of the corner of your eyes, or when your view changes like, as you said, going around a corner, then it's probably not something to worry about very much. It's pretty common, I think, and most likely happens when you're under some kind of stress.
To be honest, I'm a (cautious) believer in spirit/whatever word you'd like to use-type paranormal things, but I don't think this has anything to do with that or with mental illness. I experience this myself... it happens usually when I first walk through a doorway or turn a corner, or turn my head quickly, and it's always almost just out of my vision then vanishes. I think it's some kind of visual/mental misinterpretation of what's in your peripheral, and vanishes as your brain catches up with the data and interprets more correctly what is there. Who knows where your particular impression of the image comes from -- the brain is mysterious! 8D
When I was under very heavy stress a couple years ago, I used to wake up and think I saw a Native American man dressed for war standing at the foot of my bed, but when I looked directly where he was standing, he was never there, hahaha. I knew it wasn't real, I didn't even sense a presence from it, just accepted it as my brain going "aldjeoirjsdlkjfgalskj" from stress.
Psychopompos mentioned sleep paralysis, and this can DEFINITELY explain what you see upon waking up. I have chronic sleep paralysis and while I can't usually open my eyes during it, when I can I have seen different kinds of figures standing near me or over me. It can be very, very scary because it looks real and you are in that sleepy dream-state of mind, groggy, and you can't move. But the visuals can happen even without paralysis.
If it really begins to bother you, I would talk to someone who really knows about it, but once you realise nothing is actually there you can learn to almost ignore it -- or at least not feel freaked out. :B

I don't know what is going on, but when you are dealing with something strange, it helps to keep track of your stress level, sleep, eating, medication you are on,etc. Is this problem getting better or worse? This doesn't sound like an asperger thing. I wouldn't stress about his too much unless other weird things start happening.
