By the way, I get full-blown "exorcist syndrome" during my rage attacks, including a demonic-sounding falsetto that I otherwise can't seem to reproduce. The fish oil does seem to work wonders at preventing these attacks from ever ocurring.

I take fish oil too and it seems to counteract the overfocusing on details that happens during bouts of anxiety or anger. The effect is not immediate, though. You need to take it every day for a long time. The fatty acids in fish oil might help produce some neuronal connections that are otherwise lacking in an autistic brain.

I have heard that fish oil helps people on the spectrum with various things. My SO swears that the angry, repetitive thoughts have been greatly reduced since he has been taking fish oil. OTOH, I find that fish oil has no effect upon my intrusive, repetitive and unpleasant thoughts. I find that a small dose of tranquilizer helps, but I hate being dependent upon chemicals.

Glucose is a chemical. Diatomic oxygen is a chemical. However, I think you are right to be concerned about substances that could be habit-forming, Hartz.

Have you considered chamomile or valerian? They have tranquilizing effects, and I have found chamomile to be especially beneficial. Valerian seems to leave me feeling sore the morning after if I take it to sleep.

I know what chemicals are. Lack of sleep effects my eloquence! :wink: As for Valerian, and Chamomile, they are too mild to allow me to reach the deeper phases of sleep. They are good only for the falling asleep process, in my case.

I used to take Omega-3's daily for a couple of years, but in the end I didn't notice any differences in how I felt.
