Okay, some of you guys might already know somebody called Stephanie Lynn Keil. If you don't, she is a somewhat controversial autistic blogger. She has very strong opinions against neurodiversity (but that's not what I'm going to talk about). She used to post on a blog called A Grand Illusion but now she writes on a blog called Speak.
She has also decided to go onTumblr

Some of you are aware that she also has strong opinions towards aspies and thinks many of them are self diagnosed/lying about being disabled and denies the severity of others problems. Well, more recently, she has been changing her history, claiming that she was sexually abused and it was severe that the FBI and the CIA got involved. Just read through her blog and you'll see all the inconsistencies.

On her Tumblr, she writes very much of the same stuff as she does for "Speak" and recently she has started writing about Anorexia Nervosa. She says that she had suffered from it due to the abuse that she went through and is calling other anorexics "fake".

So, to those with an eating disorder, what do you think about this?

I mean, seriously, "deadly anorexia"? As opposed to the non deadly kind?

My friend from school had anorexia. She was uppermiddle class, white, attractive female. I don't think that is why she developed anorexia, but she still fit the so-called stereotype according to the blog.

I say she had anorexia because she died just a few months before graduation after living in the hospital for the last two years of her life. I think her family would agree with me when I say: she wasn't faking.

She's clearly a disturbed person, or just attention-seeking. Okay, those are pretty much the same thing, but anyway, it's impossible to tell if any of the things she writes are true.

For all the anas I know and me, anorexia is a way to stay alive, not to die. So I don't know what she means by the 'deadly' anorexia, that sounds a bit suspicious. The whole 'gosh, I'm killing myself' is a bit ?huh?

Every anorexic case is different, so this blogger probably shouldn't make such generalisations. All that is true for real anorexics (not that 'deadly' anorexic bull, but the non-attention seekers) is that anorexia is never ending hell.

She is a bit scary to me. I don't know why, she makes me feel uncomfortable.

But I don't know anyone that fits the stereotype.

She does actually overall sound accurate with a lot of the emotional side of anorexia. Even if she does try to make 'deadly anorexia' sound like some sort of exclusive club for 'real' anorexics.

Sorry for my all-over reply, I'm a bit out of it right now.

The fact that she is saying that other anorexics are "faking it" is a huge generalization.

I don't think I like that blogger. I can't stand people who think that way. People like that are usually bad news.

I fortunately fit the stereotype of anorexia. I was even diagnosed with it in 2007. No way was I attention seeking because people with eating disorders usually keep it a secret and don't admit it because they don't want anyone to know. I would lie about not being hungry because I had a fear of getting fat and didn't want to eat. But in the doctor's office I was all honest about my eating habits when my asked me a bunch of questions during my check up and he placed that label on me. I guess I wanted to be an anorexic huh? But I hated having an eating disorder, it sucked. I even thought I was going to struggle during pregnancy and breastfeeding but I am glad I didn't and that I got over it just like that.

And who the hell would want to kill themselves from the illness?

She does this with autism as well. She is strangely elitist towards aspies (she has classic autism, apparently) and she once wrote a post for the Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse, talking about "Mild Abuse vs Severe Abuse", in which she gassed on about her accomplishments and didn't once discuss the abuse that she went through or give advice.

It's as if it's a competition to her. Quite creepy.

I find it unusual that she deleted her story on the About My Diagnoses page instead of the comment that challenged it. Most people, like one med school student who made fun of (future) patients, keep the blog post but delete any comments that challenge their views.

Okay, I'm not a shrink: what does that mean? She actually believes what she says is true, and the backstory just needs to be rewritten to sync with reality?

In a nutshell: "Wah, my cause of anorexia is TEH WURST ONE, and everyone else is a baby!"

Pathetic.

I've always hated the "I am more disabled than you" crap and that is basically what she is doing with eating disorders. People who think they are worse off than others just because their issues aren't the same as theirs or because theirs isn't as bad so they act like they are fakes and nothing and that they don't have anything serious going on. That is what she is doing with eating disorders. Just because they don't have them for the same reason as she does so they are "fakes" and doing it for "attention."

I dont have anorxia, Im quite the opposite even, but I noticed the "disability culture and aspies" blog where she states about how much more she is disabled. However it seems to me someone who can write as well as her cant be too disabled either, because there are people who cant even move. Personally I dont even have the attention span to read the whole article so I dont know what everything says, but I got the idea.

Anorexia Nervosa is NOT a lifestyle. It a real disease which people of all ages are dying from day after day. Whether they be 4 or 74. I don't wish to be one of them, so I am fighting for my life back one moment at a time. I don't even wish to read her blogs.

Well, Yes, Anorexia is a real disease. People (like me) get annoyed when they get asked, People automatically assume that skin and bone people are anorexic. This is not true either. I eat a lot, When i can. And i still cant seem to put anything on.
