I was just wondering if it is a good idea... I mean, I have severe anxiety and often times I get panicky. It's always good if I have them on me and take them right away so they work a lot better. But I just wonder the dangers of this with those who take advantage of such drugs like that. Is it a good idea if I really REALLY need them with me or better to not have them with me at all times and left at home?

The only times me anxiety is more triggered is around other people. I get really paranoid around strangers; as well as dealing with sensory and emotional overload. I never know when I am going to have an anxiety attack. Being out and about in public is when anxiety can strike for me and that's the time I need them the most.

But I also worry about the dangers of this. Having meds like that in public, wouldn't it be hard if you were somehow caught in possession of them? Like if someone saw you taking them if you are say, sitting in a walmart bench and taking a pill with a bottle of sprite... wouldn't people be suspicious, even employees or those who well... are less understanding of the person's condition?

I'm just confused I guess... I don't know if I should yet somehow I feel like it is better... what do you guys think?

As long as they're yours and you have some form of identification on you, you shouldn't worry about bringing your meds with you wherever you go.

Well, my dad usually keeps my ID with him since I can't keep a wallet or purse without losing it or leaving it behind. He's usually also the one who needs to keep it with him since he has power of attorney over me. But I'm usually with my dad... except other times I'm with my mom and she doesn't have my ID with her.

I'd have to explain to them but they aren't very understanding when it comes to all of my needs; just a few of the minor things that happen. -_______-;

Nothing wrong with it; it's a medical need. Most US states have laws requiring you to carry your prescription, original or copy, whenever you have prescription drugs on you. Otherwise, you risk arrest, although once they verify that the drugs were indeed prescribed to you, you'll walk out of the police station with a fine and probably not much else.

But for me, that's scary. I tend to freak out around police officers for some reason... I had a meltdown once because of this police officer that was at our house. We didn't do anything wrong or anything... it was because the guy who cleaned our house before we moved didn't do a good job... or something... I can't remember. He called the police and I started to meltdown... even though the police officer was a nice guy, since he asked if I was okay and wondered why I was crying, I still had a meltdown because I was anxious and distressed from what was going on. >_____<

There is just something about the police that freaks me out. One time I even screamed in public and started whining because they were trying to arrest this one guy who shoplifted at wal-mart and whatever. But this also why I need my meds for anxiety. I hardly take them at home because nothing at home really triggers the anxiety. It's usually only when I'm public that I get really panicky and want to run away. Sometimes I don't and I am fine and trying to be social even though I tend to fail at this... other times I can go get what I want on my own, than meet with my dad or wait for my dad to be done with whatever he has to do. I just worry about so many things I shouldn't... and then I meltdown. :(

I used to be on anti anxiety meds, and I never had a problem taking them outside of my house. If I needed one in public, I just discreetly took a pill. No one ever gave me trouble over it.

I've travelled to a different country by car with my medication and never got trouble for that either. As long as you can produce proof that it's prescribed to you, I don't see how "they" can do anything about it.

Yeah, that's true... I just don't want to ruin into anyone who will object. I would throw me into a huge meltdown mode. -____-;

If you are generally with your parents maybe they can keep the meds for you. From what you've stated about having a tendency to lose your wallet and purse I would be concerned about losing the meds. They would also be able to help if someone asks about them.

Yeah, I used to take a bottle of Adderall out of my backpack during college classes, and swallow a pill along with the bottled water I already had on my desk.

I have a pill container on my keychain. I can carry pain relievers, anti-side effect meds, and my night meds. I picked one up at a retail chain pharmacy. I would imagine this would be more discreet, and you only need to carry necessary ones for the day and refill when you get home.

When I carried meds with me I never carried the whole bottle at once, I just had these really small envelopes that I reused and would put one or two pills in the envelope and carried that.
