Yoga for AS, PTSD, Depression and Anxiety
I am an advocate for medical marijuana, but ever since I’ve been reading opposing arguments to the drug war; I’ve been considering trying an alternative form of medicine.
I’ve developed effective coping methods for myself thus far.For those of you who don’t have the time that I have - I understand this may be daunting.
I want to re-invest myself in Bikram Yoga.
Gosh, why not? I challenge you all who use marijuana, medicinally for anxiety or PTSD or have Aspergers or depression to do the same.
I’ve been using water, music and physical therapy to cope with my symptoms, and thusfar it’s been quite successful. From my understanding - here in Edmonton it’s 140$/month for unlimited use of the yoga studio from 6AM to late at night.

I just awoke from a bad episode in my past and immediately I turned on The Beatles and started breathing through my nose.

As I see it - humans have been conditioned from the beginning of time to be in control. And the mind is the epicenter of control, so why can't I be in complete control of myself?
Yoga? Good plan. Personally, I prefer to do yoga outside, which is a serious challenge in winter :S
Rather than marijuana, which has negative effects on your brain, have you ever looked into ecstacy?
Seriously, google MDMA PTSD. One of the top ten medical breakthroughs of the decade is it's ability to completely eliminate cases of PTSD, OCD and depression. Recent studies (Harvard medical school) have shown that it causes NO damaging side effects to your mental health... though it's still technically an illegal substance (not for long though). One session with it and a licensed therapist last summer completely improved my outlook on life and eliminated some of my physical symptoms. It's pretty amazing, and don't take my word for it... a little research is always a good idea when considering alternative treatments :)
... Just throwing that out there? More people should know about this.

I am SO glad you posted that.
Could be much more effective than the co-respiridone I'm taking now.
I just blogged it. I'm a little scared to take it just because I've seen what it can do to people, and the stigma behind it of course. The scene that the drug is used in is so grimy...
Also, when a friend of mine crushes it up and snorts it in a Hudsons, I'm not too fond of it after that
Ah, people who use drugs recreationally. That seems more than a little irresponsible to me... but then again, I'm very protective of my brain.
It's true, taking mood-altering drugs like ecstasy can seriously damage your emotional health if you become addicted to them, or if you treat them as a way to have a good time rather than as a measured treatment for deep-set psychological conditions. You do have to exercise responsibility when dealing with things like this... it is medicine after all. Talk to someone you can trust about it? Having a sober friend help you through the experience is also a MUST if you do decide to pursue this.
Also, you should definitely be off the CO Risperidone before you try a dose of anything else. I have no idea how long it takes for it to be out of your system completely... conflicting meds and all that :S
