Do you find that Adderall etc. help you ease into talking, mixing with people? If you stop taking the medication, do you find it hard to socialize?

Dont know. While I was on the medication for ADD I was also using drugs for anxiety. Anti-anxiety is what prolly helped me socialize better.

Yeah Methylphenidate (Ritalin) helped me socialise, I felt more awake & aware, one time I took it socialising almost seemed automatic it was really insightful, the effects greatly varied everytime I took it though. The crashes were insanely bad in the evening this last time, I've never managed to take it for more than 4 days, by the 5th day my body feels like it's falling apart, the depression I had on it recently was something else! basically crying myself to sleep, something I've NEVER experienced before (it felt like pure raw stress was bulging out of my face), it was horrendous. I believe someone once said "if you can't get it on while on a drug there is something inherantly wrong with that drug", I think there must be some primitive brain response to that very problem this drug causes regardless of whether you're sexually active or not.

Note: I've just ended up with another infection after trying it again, the same thing happened last time, connected? maybe.

Overall I'd say Ritalin, Adderall etc are worth trying once or twice just for the experience, they will most likely help you in some way. I'd be surprised if you could tolerate any of the stimulants long term or would want to but that's up to you, I guess everyone reacts differently. I'm looking to try something natural in the future, most likely won't work as well but the negative effects can't be anywhere near as bad.

Being able to concentrate is very useful, it means I'm paying attention to a person's body language and what they are saying, rather than spinning in my own brain or distracted by other stuff.

I don't medicate, I developed concentration ability through meditation.

I have to turn it on, it's not an effortless thing.

It helped me because it made it easier for me to stop interrupting and to begin listening more.
And that again gave me the opportunity to watch how people behave and interact. I'll say it
has made a very big difference.
