Yeah I have no idea what to think about this but.....anyways I felt very detatched and numb for most of the day with a few instances of extreme anxiety and PTSD annoyances and it was bothering me. Luckily I was able to focus on my final in Psychology...but it was hard because my thought process was not working correctly I guess. It felt like it took twice as much effort to do some simple things because of how detatched I felt. And everything seemed a little bit unreal you could say......like comparable to how things seem rather unreal if you are on psychedelic substances, I don't know how else to explain it that is the only thing I can think of to compare it to.

Anyways it was weird and so I figured I would vent about it.

dissociation?

I have experienced it and at times it was very distressing but at others it was pleasantly numb, just what I needed.

If it continues I'd personally try to seek therapy for it but if you're like me the feelings will come out eventually. Sounds like you were in "feelings-off" mode to get things done.

I was kind of stuck wondering wether I should enjoy it or be distubed by it....it is certainly intresting to feel like you are outside yourself. but yeah I think dissociation is the word for that. I do enjoy altered states of mind, but I prefer to know why I am experiancing them usually which yesterday it seemed like it randomly just happened.

I used to dissociate when I was younger. It no longer happens but I was quite ill with various mental health problems through my teen years. It can be quite frightening and for me usually came on with a flashback (I had PTSD).

That is intresting because the night before I had a bit of a flashback when I was trying to get to sleep.....and ended up smoking lots of ciggerettes and staying up till 5:30 in the morning.....did not get up till 8 in the morning but still. And then all day I was feeling really detatched and numb and was anxious about nothing specific for about 20 minutes.

Depression? That is what I feel like when I get depressed, I kind of see my life from far away.

I don't think it was the depression I have had that for most of my life and that is not how it affects me...it could be related to the PTSD or maybe there is something else going on I am unaware of.
