I know this is better asked to a doctor, but I'd like to know is it possible to take Ativan 1mg in the morning and 2mg at bedtime, and be able to build up a steady state over time? (meaning have a consistent level in the blood)

Thanks,
~ Andy

i used to be a doctor and just checked out ativan in a medical reference. ativan is taken 2 to 3 times per day up to a maximum of 10 mg per day. bad things about ativan: it may impair your ability to drive. after you are on in it a while, it may lose its effect. you can't just stop it without things like rebound anxiety and insomnia. it has to be tapered off.

so the dose you describe is reasonable and should keep a level in your system.

why are you thinking of ativan when you are already on a very similar drug, xanax?
