(I have dissociation, maladaptive daydreaming disorder and some aspie traits.)

Sometimes during the day, I randomly imagine myself in some kind of situation, say walking down the street or something, but the strange thing is, I actually don't see myself walking down the street but someone else I know. Is it normal to see someone else in your head when you're actually daydreaming about yourself? I hope you understood what I mean.

I went to school with Med guys and such and some of them did not seem to have any sense at all (came across like they were more worried about the money they'd earn after) - I went in for pre-law but soon found out well ... 1. you ain't supposed 'to pull your face' 2. you can't blurt out what you're thinking 3. don't party with engineers when you're the head of the Women's society. That, coupled with my dad having to teach me how to tie my shoes when I was well passed 6 years old, the amount of times I 'd misstep & slammed my head into things and I still can't bloody tie my shoes (I am damn near 50. Glad we got Velcro now. Trully.) I can do binary math but don't ask me how much tip to leave at a Restaurant. And forget about the left and right turn thing. I have freinds who've noticed that particular failing (left vs right) - I'd rather they just point in the particular direction (at the time I need to turn. Otherwise we'll run into a curb/house/whatever) - and folks do kinda look at one funny when one talks to a machine as a being (I have conversations with them - one sided, but depending on how they are acting, my tone of voice changes)- I dunno. Aspergers is the best explanation I've found for me, but yeah - I dunno. Just don't believe in doctors - they sure are not neccessarily smarter than me (and I've seen enough of them) Dunno if this is the right place to post this. Still trying to figue things out.

Define "normal" :) Is what goes on in your head when you daydream harming anyone in any way? Is it distressing or disturbing? If not, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. More than likely some people will share your experience, some not. Either way, if it's normal for you then that's just fine. We're all individuals. :D

I have a whole other person that is my other self that lives in my daydream fantasy world and have had that for many many years.

I don't know, my thinking is really strange sometimes. I may also state that the person I've got in my head varies, it's not always the same person.

It isn't really distressing or disturbing, it's just weird... Or is it normal?

'Normal' is only being comfortable with yourself. Yes, I have had conversations/interactions with myself as an 'other' - daydreams on the bus going home, complete with facial expressions & such - other folks look at you weird - but hey, I think it's just another way one processes information at the end of the day (crap that happens during the day I mean). If that makes sense :? And, yeah I've daydreamed too ..... check out the movie Brazil
