So, it's said that working memory is associated with schizophrenia so I want to make some really legit working memory tests of my own so I can detect my possible cognitive decline if I descend into schizophrenia (I get the feeling I'm in the middle of the descending into it.). There are others out there, but they don't really "feel legit" because those tests don't seem to have a very high test-retest reliability (The scores jump around too much). But, yet, I can still use them as inspiration for creating my own.
So, anyone want to share their favorite working memory tests? Or, perhaps, links to real ones used in the real world so I can make some super awesome ones?
I know that the WMS has one that measures "Spatial working memory" using red, blue and white dots and I can replicate that.
So, I want to make tests that test...
Visual/Spatial working memory
Verbal working memory
Attention Switching (Like the Wisconsin Card Sorting Task)
I don't have any links on hand, but I just wanted to say I have taken working memory tests online before and scored in the average range, however my working memory in real life is crap. When you're focusing on the test you're going to get different results because you're away from all the distracting stimuli of life, I think.
