How does one 'combat' the effect of stress (flight or fight response) on the body becuase as an aspie i am very prone too it unfourtantly. :(

I read in a book about fear, that it helps to tap your foot to a steady rythym, and breathe steady, when you feel this way.

Stress is not a thing you 'fight', just like you don't deal with a phobia by becoming afraid of the opposite of your phobia even more. You learn ways to become calmer and relaxed, so you can deal with whatever problem you have with all your mental and emotional resources, and not just your instincts. 'Fighting' or 'Combating' or 'Going to War', even metaphorically, gives a person the wrong idea about how to deal with stress itself.
