They do happen. I have Asperger's, ADHD, anxiety, depression and cyclothemia. It's all possible, even though doctors try to nail it all on one thing, it almost never is only ONE disorder. And if it is, that's pretty lucky.

Comorbidity is the norm for most psychiatric patients, myself included. And if you have full-blown major depressive episodes, a diagnosis of cyclothymia isn't very accurate. Cyclothymics continually fluctuate between hypomania and dysthymia every few days. If you have full-blown major depressive episodes interspersed with periods of hypomania, you are most likely bipolar II. If so, I would recommend that you talk to your doctor so you can be labeled correctly.

it is normal for some one to have more than one diagnosis.
