Not self-diagnosing, but can you think of a personality disorder that includes self-sacrificing, but not masochism? I'm talking about real self-sacrificing, humility etc. , as opposed to BPD which has characteristics like masochism and manipulation, which would go against the true meaning of sacrifice. Is there any label for the self-sacrificing personality type?

I thought of it too... Which means that so far, we've found parallels in philosophy and religion to this type of personality, but not in psychology.

Humility and self-sacrifice could be symptoms of dependent personality disorder if you are sacrificing yourself because you feel like you aren't good enough and sacrificing yourself for others helps you gain worth.

Oh, thank you, makes sense. I probably hadn't considered DPD when I posed this question.
