Any people here diagnosed with panic disorder, or other types of anxiety disorders?

Me? I am diagnosed with panic disorder, agoraphobia, and GAD with a bit of ocd. I take paxil daily and xanax as needed. I also see a therapist for regular CBT.

I have been diagnosed with OCD, and I am taking Luvox and anafranil every day for that, and for the anxiety and heart palpitations, metoprolol and lorazepam PRN. I'm trying to get away from the benzo though, so taking lorazepam infrequently, it seems to cause me more problems than it solves.

I have panic disorder and agoraphobia. I'm not on any medication. It's really hard but I'm trying to take care of it on my own. Well, my boyfriend helps immensely but really, it's still a very bad struggle for me.

I have panic disorder. I would love to get my hands on some Xanax but the doc wont let me. I get derealization and depersonalization which is so f****d up.

I practically begged my therapist for Xanax because I was sick of feeling so panicy over normal, everyday situations that others don't think twice about. But they wouldn't give anything to me, either.

I have GAD as well and smoke a lot of pot, drink a lot of coffee, skip most day time meals due to anxiety, not the best strategy but I have so much stress that I can't unwind enough to do the stuff I'm supposed to do to control my anxiety. :x

I'm scared to death of psychiatrists, last one I had put me on Ritalin then left me with no way to reach him when I had suicidal obsessive thoughts plus homicidal tendencies on it. This was after years of avoiding them after seeing them all of my life as a child.

Do the meds really work? I can't imagine what it would be like to not feel anxious.

Meds do work for some people, others no. IMO, a combo of meds and therapy works generally better especially for me.

I have noticed a spike in my anxiety since I recently found out my husband's office is closing and his job is being relocated to PA! I am freaking out, I have never moved in my entire life... I don't handle change well...

It's good to know that there are others who understand my struggle with anxiety.

Major depressive disorder, dysthymia, and panic disorder, here. Take Zoloft for depression and Seroquel to help stabilize things and put me to sleep. Nothing specifically for panic, unfortunately.

At the moment, panic attacks and Non Epileptic attack disorder. I've got a history of major depressive disorder, GAD, Cyclothymia and had a nasty episode of reactive psychosis last year.

I've just been changed to Sertraline (Zoloft/Lustral) and going through the motions of the side effects (it's like a fruit machine! which will you get this time?) I'm struggling with feeling apathy and blunted effect, and stomach upset >_<

Hey! I'm diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder and depression. Also on the way to a probable diagnosis of Asperger's. I've been on numerous medications to date: about 4 different SSRIs, most recently citalopram and then escitalopram. I no longer take that but now take Venlafaxine which is an SNRI. Tried beta blockers and sedatives at some points as well but neither was really a viable therapy for me.

My heart goes out to anybody dealing with this crap on a daily (or any other) basis. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The next time somebody tells me "Pull yourself together", "You just need to tighten your belt and get on with things", "I was depressed/anxious once for a couple of weeks and I managed to deal with it, why can't you?" I swear I will punch them in the throat (half joking).

Eugh I totally know what you mean. I often feel extremely depersonalised and other similar feelings but especially when I am very depressed and/or anxious. Feeling some combination of no longer existing, inhabiting a space several feet above and behind my body or having a invisible but quite solid and real bubble between myself and the rest of reality is really quite disconcerting to say the least. I actually find that some of the meds make that particular problem worse - every SSRI I have taken has. My current one (Venlafaxine) doesn't exacerbate this issue like the others have but at the moment I'm on a very low dose of it.

Since I have bipolar I average 1 moderate to major anxiety attack every month with close
to 1 or more minor attacks a week.
It is much worse when I am really stressed! :D

My anxiety has been terrible recently since my husband and I have to relocate for his job. I am taking xanax almost daily, so my doctor mentioned klonopin to get me through this rough time along with my paxil. Anyone here have experience with klonopin?

I been diagnosed with OCD & panic disorder but I have some social anxiety & probably GAD. My social anxiety got a lot better from working in retail thou do still get nervous in social situations some but I can deal with it better. My GAD & panic disorder got a lot better after I started taking Buspar; I take 10mg twice a day. It helped the anxiety aspect of my OCD some too but I still had a lot of OCD problems; they seemed to get worse in some ways & I started taking Neurontin for it. I'm taking 400mg 3x a day & that's helping a lot. I still have issues but they're a lot more manageable than what they were. I been on some antidepressants, a couple benzos, a few antipsychotics for various things & they never really helped with my OCD or anxiety unless it was by making me feel very tired or unable to concentrate
