So I came in after a night out this morning and I just can't get to sleep. And the night prior to last night out I couldn't sleep either! I only slept from about 10:30am to about 3pm.

I'm starting to get scared as I actually feel wide awake but I know I should be tired. What is happening to me?

Is this possibly a withdrawal side effect from mirtazapine? I've just recently tapered off it and it's only just started happening.

I'm thinking about taking a 15mg tablet to see if it will knock me off to sleep.

Stressing about it will definately make it worse, when your body is ready and relaxed it should get the sleep it needs. I have gone for a couple of days with an average of 1.5hr sleep per night before (longer term average 4hr/night) and it totally messes things up. I find the thing that helped me the most was just to go to bed at bed time, get up at get up time, keep a regular schedule in the day, try and eat properly, try to calm down a bit emotionally before bed, don't worry about sleep, and when all else fails take a strong sedative [disclaimer: with your doctors guidence] :)

I had sleep problems for a while after I quit taking Remeron(I think that's mirtazapine) It had made me extremely tired when I was on it & I was spending over half my day sleeping on it. Taking it to put yourself to sleep after you tapered off could prolong your withdrawal adjusting period.

Did you have anything going on last night/day or night/day before that could of excited you, stressed you out or had any other kind of emotional stuff? Emotional stuff can affect my sleep alot

As I'm writing this, I've been up for well over 24 hours. I've been sleeping once every two days lately. Probably for about the past month. Paranoia starts kicking in, I get wild ideas, write weird music, and often begin to think about things that anger me. Hopefully I'll get some sleep soon.
